Another reason not to confuse airports with parking meters.

CNN Money reports that people left $675,000 in change at American airport security checkpoints, which the TSA gets to keep.

3 Possible Explanations Why So Many People Leave Change Behind

1. Forgot change left over from strategically-placed vending machines that sell smaller-sized toiletries allowed on flights.

2. Tried to bring couch full of change as carry-on item.

3. They forgot everything they put in the bin. Which explains all the shoeless-watchless people walking around the airport asking for spare change to use the vending machine. (And all along you thought they were homeless.)
