Asking Price For World Series Tickets Reached Record High Yesterday

CNBC reported before yesterday’s Mets-Royals game that at an average asking price of $1437.19, the price of tickets to see a World Series game in New York reached a record high.

3 Observations That Arise From This Story

  1. So that’s why all the celebrities in the audience from Michael Moore to Dennis Miller seem kind of far away for celebrities on TV.  Hey, the left and right are united on something: not paying for well-above average seats!
  2. Will all these celebrities like Jerry Seinfeld and Chris Rock shell out money to see the Mets potentially get eliminated tonight?  We don’t want two of the world’s funniest comedians to be sad.  Also, that comedy routine about the time your favorite baseball team didn’t win the Series is probably not something living Chicago Cubs or Cleveland fans can relate to.
  3. Did those record prices fall today? We hope not: seeing someone potentially win the World Series, has to be worth something, right?
